it was so hot in Rome today that dawen's sneakers melted into the road.

the highlight of the day, however, was the visit to the Pantheon. the remarkable dome, with the hole in the middle, the symmetry of 'cylinder and the sphere'.

to my disappointment the fountain at Piazza Navona is undergoing restoration and much of it was covered in scaffolding.

dinner was entertaining though. pizza at Da Baffeto, watching two waiters yell at each other, the jolly old owner then telling at our waiter, sharing a table with two English, watching the pizzas being made, and being kissed by the bushy moustache of the owner while taking a photo together.

Trevi Fountain, at night, is even more beautiful.

i don't want to leave Rome yet. tomorrow we are going to Vatican City, and should expect to spend a whole day there, and then its Milan, our last stop.

(meanwhile we all using all our internet time settling post-exchange administrative matters. bah.)
