i made a mistake today morning, thinking that we were to set off for Pisa and Rome, we packed up and proceeded to check out, only to discover that we actually planned one more night in Florence. nice.

damn, we could have slept in longer, given that we were exhausted yesterday from visiting Uffizi, roaming around the streets, picking ties out for my brother-in-law/uncle/dawen, looking for Palazzo Strozzi (to buy tickets for Harry Potter) and checking out the entertaining buskers-filled night-time Florence.

anyway, just a short commentary from where i left off at Budapest. after Budapest, we travelled to Innsbruck (Austria), the scenery was magnificent because we were extremely close to the alps. after Innsbrucks, we made short trips to Nuremberg and Frankfurt (which i already blogged about), and then it was Switzerland. the land of high quality of lifestyle but extremely expensive food/goods. it rained for most of the time we were in Zurich and Interlaken, but we managed to meet up with Basil at Zurich, where he brought us to this bar/restaurant which had a panoramic view over Lake Zurich, the alps and the city. and the pecks on the cheek (muah muah), i was taken by surprise and started to move away after the second, to which Basil said 'we do it three times in Switzerland'. haha.

at Interlaken, we couldn't go to First, nor to the highest point in Europe, because the rain wouldn't stop pouring. on our last day, the sun decided to emerge for a while and we tried to hike. we gave up the operation halfway through because i was wearing ballet flats and they were sinking into the mud. well, i'm obviously not cut out for hiking. haha.

okay, so i am certain now, it is only tomorrow that we go to Pisa and Rome. :)
