i didnt have enough internet time earlier to properly blog about Venice.

i would say that Venice is a wildly romantic place - romantic not in the cliche sense that it is an ideal place for couples but that it seduces you almost immediately, it attracts you, perhaps because of the canals, the gondolas, the intricate masks...and watching the sunset from the edge of the city, with the sea surrounding you, definitely has an effect.

of course, we loved Venice, for the food and the people. Marcus, an Italian we met on the train on the way to Italy, told us that if we loved the liveliness of Spain, we would love Italy too. and he was right.

Florence, the city of Renaissance beauty. we saw the famous David today, which dawen keeps mistaking for 'Michael' (because of the Master of course). luckily we found a way not to queue and pay to get into the Accademia, which was fantastic because we admired the magnificent David in a less than crowded gallery, stunned and amazed at the perfect proportions and size of the statue.

just a few weeks more to enjoy Italy. can hardly wait. :)
