arrived at London King's Cross, late morning on Friday. discovered this while looking for a cash machine.

that was Friday. i would upload more photos, but the connection at Southampton isn't too good, and i'm tired. oh, and i ran into derick's friend just outside Chinatown, it was a day of coincidences, because we also spotted a hallmate queueing up outside a Chinese restaurant earlier.
on Saturday, i took a train down to London again to meet Prof Barnard. a journey that usually takes 1 hour took me 3 hours because of the damn engineering works. and because of delays, i arrived late at Leicester Square. thank god he was still there. a quick trip to Starbucks (Barnard's treat, 'i can't believe i just spent $18 on coffee!'), the search for a bench failed and we made do with the grass. random stories about the professors back home, European cities, food...and dinner was at Four Seasons because he hadn't heard of, or tried it yet. yum.
journey back to Southampton took me 2 hrs...ugh. i forgot to pack my hair dryer so i'm here waiting for my hair to dry. was nice meeting up with Barnard, and lucky for me, it was possible only because he patiently waited for me for 30 minutes. whew.
