today's weather was beautiful and we definitely didn't waste our times indoors. we were out to enjoy the sunshine in the late afternoon, at Leazes Park.

all we wanted to do was to sit sedated by the huge pond, we were pretty much contented with munching on our raspberries/cookies.

we also thought, that if we were up for some light activity, we could play with the frisbee.

but that was before we discovered the playground.

i tell you, British kids have it good here - their playgrounds are a lot more fun (and dangerous, as well). this is some rotating 360degrees thing.

we tried to sit on this curved seesaw but i fell off it. damn.

neither could i get myself to slide along this thing, which michelle did perfectly.

we saw this little girl balance herself on the entire length, and decided to do the same. michelle was damn good at it, but refused to pose properly.

i couldn't even finish the entire stretch, but decided that i'm better off balancing on one foot.

this little blond boy, laughed at us because we had the concept of a some crawling thing wrong - 'i can't believe you thought this was a monkey bar!' we're definitely too old for the playground.

but this black kid is the man - the king of the playground. he saw us having trouble with the mini flying fox and came over to demonstrate 'this is how you do it, i've been doing it for years!'

this is a video of the king of the playground. when michelle was unsure of how to play this pole-y slide thing, he readily volunteered his kinds wisdom and urged her on, but his mom yelled for him and he had to get down first. haha.
_______

michelle's Spanish flatmate, mabel, very nicely volunteered to teach us how to make tortilla for dinner...it was a complicated process, which involved flipping the entire tortilla onto a plate. haha.

good stuff. i love Spanish food. :)
