well, i'm now back at Newcastle, after a 6 hour train ride from Southampton, which wasn't too bad, despite the fact that the satellite system screwed up - all seat reservations were cancelled and it was rather chaotic whenever new passengers boarded the train. i made a friend, a Japanese guy who moved to the UK when he was 10 and now studying medical science at Leeds. i drifted off to sleep after chatting for about an hour or so, and he was nice enough to let me have a go at his Nintendo when i woke up.

i had fun at Southampton too - those wacky conversations with dw's neighbours, the afternoon snack out on the lawn, cooking dinner on a Saturday night, and of course, we sorted out our travel plans for summer. we'll start from Krakow (Poland) and end at Milan (Italy).

unfortunately, i cannot update more on my Easter travels, because all photos are in dawen's portable harddisk back at Southampton. :(

and in a way, i know that i'm really lucky to have this opportunity to go on exchange, and to travel around Europe. never in my widest dreams did i imagine that i would be able to backpack, not once, but twice, within Europe (ok, technically i did not backpack because dawen carried double backpacks for most of the our Easter trip). i really have to thank my parents for allowing me to go on exchange, to experience what i could not possibly have had back in Singapore. i'm missing out on most of my sister's 9 months of expectancy though, hehe, i can't see how huge her stomach has grown...and despite the fun that we had while travelling, i can't wait to get back home in July.

and of course, i miss Singapore food.

time to settle down, work on my presentation and essays. best of luck to those who are still having their exams! especially da tou cun!
