i only had two classes today - a seminar for High Victorian Poetry and Prose and a Russian History lecture. the Russian lecture was disappointing, and it was a matter of personal preference than anything else, because the lecture was about economic policies and 'Virgin Lands', which i'm not quite interested in. tomorrow's lecture is going to touch on foreign policy, so i'm looking forward to that. of course, there's the usual Hungarian Crisis/Polish Uprising/Sino-Soviet split, but i noticed in the module outline that the Cuban Missile Crisis is going to be covered too. i haven't read much of that since JC, will be interesting to hear about it from another lecturer. hah, i'm such a geek.

i had some time to myself today after my classes, because the rest of the Singaporeans decided to take a day trip to York (they had a free day. bah). i did some grocery shopping at m&s and grainger market, talked to my parents a bit on Skype and decided to get some reading done. of course, i was distracted by ANTM and my bed. damn.

the weather today was great. i actually had some sunshine in my (messy) room.

and a picture of my workspace, though i shifted eventually to the bed, to minimize the distraction of my MacBook.

i was supposed to meet the rest of the Singaporeans to club, you know, a nice end to v'day over here at Newcastle, but seems like my stomach isn't quite agreeing with what i ate today. rawr.

right, so i had a nice and quiet v'day this year. i hope yours was good, and if you're single, happy friendship day to you! i'm sure every one of us is loved in one way or another.

and dw's coming down from Southampton tomorrow. yeay. :D
