woot, dawen's here at Newcastle to celebrate Chinese New Year with me. he arrived really late on Thursday night, past 12mn, because his train was delayed at Darlington. 'are you here yet?' 'no i'm still at Darlington.' after about an hour of ANTM on youtube, i called him again. 'no, i am still at Darlington.' apparently the delay was due to engineering faults.

and to welcome dawen, who has been having English food for dinner practically every night, i whipped up fried rice for brunch on Friday. it was early, we had the rice at 11-ish because we wanted to go sight-seeing.

and after passing by the place practically every day on the way to school, i finally visited St. James' Park with dawen.

because i didn't buy any jersey, i wore my black and white striped dress, the newcastle colours. too bad it was too cold and the dress can hardly be seen.

edmund, these pictures are for you! :D

the inside of the store. i didn't pay for the tour of the stadium, it costs around 10 pounds and i figured that it would be better to pay the 15 pounds extra and catch a game.

enjoying some hot chocolate at Grainger Market after St James' Park. we originally wanted to get some food (because we had such an early lunch) but the stalls were already closed. :(

we then visited Quayside, the more sophisticated part of Newcastle - where restaurants, clubs and pubs reign...

to have mussels! woot.

complimentary olives.

we each ordered 1/2kg of mussels each - i had mine cooked in Spanish style, dw had his in Classic (look at this glee). delicious...and i thought that i wouldn't be able to finish the entire pot so i was surprised to see the bottom of my pot after a while. 5.30pounds well spent! :D
