as it turns out, our previous visit to Wasabi Tei was not our last! i was craving for the sashimi, and i convinced the wisdom tooth patient to have the grilled codfish and viola, we ended up visiting the eccentric chef again.

while standing in queue, i peeped in and saw ellies having lunch with her mom. haha i was really excited to see the stupid eurasian but dawen was all glum thinking about how much we'll miss Wasabi Tei over at UK.

slurp. sashimi. yum. the pair of chopsticks in the background belongs to dawen, and he thought he was all stealth in stealing my sashimi.

grilled codfish. you can never have enough of this, its always nicely done, the skin crisp, the meat tender.

bye Wasabi Tei, see you in 6 months.

__________

we had dinner at home and my mom cooked up a storm - curry, beehoon, fried youtiao stuffed with sotong paste, meatballs (the hokkien kind, not the swedish ones that my cousin kept asking for), some fish thingy that my indonesian relatives brought over, and a whole load more. i forgot to take pictures again, damn. but well, home-cooked food is always the best. my aunts and cousins came over too and my house was mighty noisy, in a good way.

and boy did we have a good time with after-dinner desserts. not knowing that i had already ordered roomfordessert's carrot cake, my sister bought a whole load of treats from Bread Papa.

to compensate for the lack of visuals, a picture taken from roomfordessert. it was definitely worth braving the rain for and all the splashing around in muddy puddles. except, this probably wouldn't sit too well with people who do not like cinammon (like my sister) or their cakes too rich.

to round it all off, we settled in front of the tv to watch the match between Chelsea and Liverpool while the aunties gathered for a round-table talk about health, food and what-not.

i'm going to miss home. :(
